Coastal Family Bible Church is blessed to have a Biblical Counseling ministry that is focused on glorifying God through discipleship and training within the context of the local church. The counsel you will receive through this ministry is based on Scriptural principles rather than secular psychology or psychiatric principles.
1. We believe the Bible given by God is sufficient for life and that when properly interpreted will reveal to the believer all the information necessary for life and godliness. When consistently applied, we are confident that a Christian can please the Lord and live in a God-honoring way regardless of the circumstance whether comfortable or progressive (2 Peter 1:3; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17).
2. The Bible is also the authoritative source with which all claims, including those claims made by science and history, must be evaluated. As a result, we reject all counseling theories using presuppositions or methodologies that are inconsistent with the proper interpretation and application of Scripture.
3. Genuine heart change is totally dependent upon the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Thus, our view of counseling includes the importance of prayer, a reliance upon God and His Word, and an understanding of ministering together with people.
